DESCRIPTION

Devatol® is a biocontrol herbicide used for weed control in stabilized or sanded park and cemetery pathways, gravel sidewalks, stabilized playgrounds, rose bushes and tree and shrub nurseries, flower beds, houseplants, and ornamental bulbs. It contains pelargonic acid, a plant-derived active ingredient that acts on contact with plants. It acts very quickly post-emergence against a wide range of weeds, both broadleaf and grass. Devatol® is listed as a biocontrol product by the French Ministry of Agriculture. Therefore, it can be used in green spaces and roads, parks and gardens open to the public, in accordance with the Energy Transition Law.

SCOPE OF APPLICATION

Devatol® is used for weed control in:
- stabilized or sanded park and cemetery paths,
- gravel sidewalks,
- stabilized playgrounds,
- rose bushes and tree and shrub nurseries,
- flower beds, houseplants, and ornamental bulbs.

Devatol® is the only biocontrol weed control solution approved for 8 different uses, making it the most versatile and flexible product.

Mode of action:
Pelargonic acid, the active ingredient in Devatol®, belongs to the fatty acid family and is derived from plants (roses, rapeseed, geraniums).
Pelargonic acid penetrates the waxy layer of the epidermis, and the leaves quickly dry out due to its contact action. Depending on the weed, symptoms are visible within a few days. When conditions are favorable (mild temperatures), a few hours are sufficient. Devatol® has a non-selective

spectrum of action
. It is effective on both dicotyledonous weeds and grasses at their young stage. When applied directly to the ground, Devatol® can be used at the base of trees without touching the green parts.

Application period:
Devatol® can be used from early spring to late autumn.
Number of applications: maximum 2 per year.

Recommendations for use
: - Use only on permeable surfaces.
- Avoid contact with copper, zinc, or synthetic resin materials.
- Do not use the product on impermeable soils or surfaces such as asphalt, concrete, paving stones, or in any other situation where there is a significant risk of runoff.
- PPE: Wear gloves, waterproof protective clothing, and eye protection.

Application period:
February to November.

INSTRUCTIONS AND DOSAGE

Devatol® is used post-emergence at a concentration of 16%, i.e., 1.6 L per 10 L of spray solution. It is applied as a spot treatment.
Devatol® is applied with a sprayer equipped with flat fan nozzles or a high-flow brush nozzle. To avoid drift onto neighboring crops, treat at low pressure (less than 3 bar) and use a protective shield.

Spray solution volume to prepare: 10 liters.
Quantity of Devatol: 1.6 L.
Quantity of water: 8.4 L.

Spray solution volume to prepare: 100 liters.
Quantity of Devatol: 16.6 L.
Quantity of water: 83.4 L.

CONDITIONS FOR SUCCESSFUL TREATMENT

- Treat young vegetation up to 5-10 cm tall.
- Maintain a concentration of 16.6% Devatol® in the spray solution.
- Apply in patches at a spray volume of 1000 L/ha using a drip irrigation system, ensuring 100% coverage of the leaves of the unwanted weeds.
- Apply at a minimum temperature of 10°C and a maximum of 25°C (optimum 20-25°C).
- Allow 12 hours for rain-free and wind-free conditions.
